Dal comunicato stampa RCS:
58,329 km/h: la tappa più veloce nella storia della Tirreno-Adriatico. I primi cinque team all’arrivo tutti sopra i 57 km/h, quindi tutti e cinque sopra il precedente record di 56,947 km/h stabilito dalla stessa BMC Racing Team l’anno scorso.

Il podio è lo stesso dell’anno scorso: anche l’anno scorso vinse la BMC Racing Team, davanti alla Etixx – Quick Step e la FDJ. Sia l’anno scorso che quest’anno, la BMC Racing Team ha concesso ad un corridore italiano l’onore di vestire la maglia di leader dopo la cronosquadre: l’anno scorso fu Daniel Oss, quest’anno Damiano Caruso.

Per la prima volta nella sua carriera da professionista Damiano Caruso è leader in una corsa a tappe.
